Seen any unusual drive-thrus?

There's a drive-thru flu shot clinic this week in Waterford. Some call themselves that, but for this you really don't leave the car.

It got me thinking about drive-thrus in industries you wouldn't expect. I mean, we're plenty used to shouting "Give me a number 4" through a lousy intercom, but not much else.

There is a convenience store one on Highway 20. Anyone know of other places locally?

Nationally, there are some good ones, from funeral chapels to church services. Fast-food chain Jack in the Box did a synopsis to celebrate Drive-Thru Day; I'm a few months late for that.

Thanks.

We have a Farm Store a few miles away. The drive thru allows you to pick up milk and other dairy products. The store leads to the barn, which leads to the pasture. Talk about direct delivery! Although I've never patronized the store, I'm sure there's a pasteurizing process in there somewhere between the cow and the customer drive up window. Might have to check it out sometime.

Drive-Thru Liquor Store in Keno. Does that make sense? Doesn't that advertise Drinking and Driving? Hmmm... That would be a good one for Drop Zone's list he had up last week.

We have drive thru liquor stores at the beaches in NC and SC. They call them Brew Thru's. It's like a car wash type building, all the liquor and beer you can imagine. We have a place down the street from my house, a convenience store called the Car Shop. You sit in the car and the attendant will get you cigarettes, sode, chips, beer whatever the store carrys.
