It’s not hard to figure out why the Milwaukee Brewers
are foundering these days:
And, no, it’s not because of manager Ned Yost.
The Brewers are stumbling because many of their key
performers have stumbled.
Consider the culprits:
Bill Hall. Major disappointment.
Jeff Suppan. Disappointment.
J.J. Hardy. Mild disappointment.
Prince Fielder. Mild disappointment.
Rickie Weeks. Major disappointment.
When you get right down to it, one of the few everyday
players who has actually overachieved this season is
Corey Hart.
The Brewers’ right fielder is quietly enjoying a
banner season. Hart is batting a team-high .302 --
well above his career average of .287 – and has an
on-base percentage of .354.
Hart has also been a model of consistency. He’s had
at least one hit in eight of the last nine games.
What’s more, his longest hitless stretch this season
was just three games.
While Hart has been productive at the plate, he has
established himself as perhaps the Brewers’ best base
runner.
Hart’s recorded nine stolen bases this season
and, yes, that leads the team as well.
There are a slew of reasons why the Brewers have
faltered this season, but Hart definitely isn’t one of them.
And how would you know this Gery? From all the games you attend, and all the locker room interviews you have done? Sounds to me like you listen to Sports talk, then write what the callers have said. I lost count of the head slappers you have written, supposed to be your "professional opinion" that turned out to be plain common sense stuff anyone can write about.
Why dont you get off your rear end, think about something other than the Bucks and your man crush on Scott Skiles and cover the next ENTIRE homestand for the RJT from the press box at Miller Park..... stories written by YOU. Then the RJT wouldnt have to pay extra for AP coverage to run in a local paper. I dont think you have the baseballs or talent to do it.
I see your point...but have to disagree...ryan braun...maybe doesnt have the stats over hart right now...but is def. the better player...other than that i cant disagree
Cavs dealing for Bucks Michael Redd? The Milwaukee Bucks and former Ohio State Buckeye player Michael Redd have reportedly grown disenchanted with one another, and Redd is on the trading block. Those who follow hoops free agency will remember that the Cavs courted Redd a few years ago, but he elected to take the cabbage and stay with the Bucks. I think he's having more than a few regrets about that move. And judging from the comments of local Cavaliers fans, they would love the chance to add Redd to the roster, believing it might provide a sense of call after LeBron James stated publicly that tweaks needed to be made to the roster to get him some help. -- Akron Beacon Journal
Man if they could dump Redd and get some expiring contracts that would be awesome. Sending him to Cleveland would weaken their team too. His fade away jumpers and getting ripped going to the hole should make those fans pretty happy! Let's hope he's gone by the end of the draft night so the Bucks can move on.
And the Brewers best player is Ryan Braun hands down...nice try Gery.
There is no disguising the disappointment this team has been so far this year. There are very maybe 2 or 3 players that are blameless. Braun, Hart, and Sheets. Those are their best players.
Woeful must have no baseballs..... another AP story about the Brewers trhis morning. I will never understand how this "writer" can get paid to cover sports by being a basketball only writer, with one or two Brewers stories in there culled from talk radio and JS online. Hey JT, I can do that for 1/3 of what your paying Gery.
Corey Hart's a solid player Ryan Braun is a Rookie Of The Year (arguably the greatest rookie season ever, offensively), a sure-fire future all-star, and a star. There's really no comparison
