Yesterday I noticed I was billed for a co-pay twice. They applied two of my co-pays to a single visit and then sent me a bill for the visit that was left without a co-pay.
If you think it is bad for you, check into what they do to elderly people. My mother was in the hospital for open heart surgery. She was so sick she couldn't figure out a medical bill so I took over. What a mess. It got tot the point where I had no idea what she was being billed either.
When you are dealing with Medicare and then private insurance, it is impossible to keep it straight. The charges are so vague even when you request a full itemized bill. We received bills from doctors I never saw come to her room. Medicare and her insurance would deny some of the bills, then kept "correcting" the balances, but not telling you what charges were being corrected. Total scam.
