What would the USA and the world look like if there was no Iraq war, patriot act, gitmo, and tough interrogations throughout the Bush administration

Any predictions??

A step backwards in the fight on global warming and overspending on a day when the US is in such turmoil.

The number of private jets on inauguration almost doubled from four years ago leaving a huge carbon foot print in which average americans are going to have to help fix. Turn off your lights, ride your bike, and if you choose to drive be sure to inflate your tires.

I also remember four years ago the media was asking if a big inauguration costing $40 million was worth it in a time of war and economic hardship. I guess it depends on who you are.

Inaugural Speech or campaign speech? sounded the same to me. Any tingles up anyones legs?
Posted by: racinenativemn at 1:04PM CST on January 20, 2009
Obama's speech wasnt that interesting to me. I thought I would have the Chris Matthews tingle. The pastors prayer was a bit offensive with his comment about the white embark on what is right comment. Like we're not doing that as a people. Any other thoughts on Obama's speech or the other speakers?

Right-wing religious fanatics
Posted by: racinenativemn at 9:43AM CST on January 7, 2009
I have read in the past couple years hundreds of letters written by the founding fathers to each other regarding the constitution. Also original state constitutions and early court cases. I was surprised how fanatical,as defined by todays secular progressives, these guys really were. People fail to relize that Thomas Jefferson wasn't the only founder and that his "separation of church and state" is widely misinterpretted. In reading his letters I don't find him the most religious but I know he believed that God, not government was the Author of our rights. I find these writings fascinating and come to relize how much I relate to the founders who really would be labeled today as right-wing religious fanatics.

Only in Minnesota. Coleman/Franken debacle
Posted by: racinenativemn at 9:19AM CST on January 6, 2009
Out of all the polling places in Hennepin Co. I think ours is probably the most accurate. Most likely because we're the smallest. 25 polling places in my county has more votes for Franken than there are registered voters. What in the heck is going on? Duplicate ballots are being printed out and counted twice. Sheesh talk about corruption. I'm very disappointed in the process, but it's kind of tough when the state is run by far-left lunatics. Not sure what's going to happen but all we can do is pray.

Aaron Rodgers MVP of my fantasy league!
Posted by: racinenativemn at 1:15PM CST on January 2, 2009

I'm happy i took 1st place and looking at all my players Rodgers averaged 18 points a game. Much better than Reggie Wayne or Brian Westbrook. I just wish the packers defence didnt fall off. id love to watch a GB playoff game. oh, well.

The funny thing here in Minnesota is the vikings havent been to the playoffs since 2004 and still the game is going to be blacked out. They need to sell 8,000 more tickets. I love hearing  bad news of the vikings and living here at the same time. It gives me a chance to laugh at them and defend my team.
