Talk about the "Bloomberg Collection"

Do you think Lauer Custom Weaponry went too far when it named its latest collection of colors after the mayor of New York?

Coloring guns it ridiculous. People need to stop pushing the envelope.

I totally agree - they went too far when they colored guns to look like kids' toys. I think it is one thing to customize a gun to have camo paint or something - but the candy colors like toys...

The companies claim they can do whatever they want to, but it is like when Camel cigs had Joe Camel on their ads. There is a line that people don't want to see crossed.

This is only going to lead to bad things. Who will be responsible when someone points a similar toy gun and is shot? Some law enforcement officer will have to live with the choice for the rest of their life or die making the wrong one.

I belong to the NRA and own several guns and handguns not unlike the colored guns except they have the original factory finish. This type of irresponsible behavior by any company feeds a person like Hillary who is in favor of gun control. I resent the company's attempt at humor at the cost of the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
That's all I have to say about that.

There have been camo painted guns on the market for many years now and they also look like some of the toy guns sold today yet there has been no Police shootings of kids because of its color.I think if you point pretty much anything at an officer you will find yourself in his gun sights as he secures his or her safety.Gun owners need to be responsible and see to it that children never even see or know you have one around. All parents that seem to be concerned about colored toy guns just may be better off not allowing these types of toys in their homes if it makes them feel uneasy.I personally don't see a coat of paint making a gun any more or less dangerous.I am a gun owner and I have children and grandchildren and I find the burden of securing their safety to be all mine when in my custody. They will never see or know I have guns until they have reached a responsible age and I deem it necessary for them to know.I know its upsetting to some of you but I will not take my grandsons toy guns away for fear of getting shot by a police officer.By the way nobody paints their guns to look like toys as it is nothing more than fashion to a few. We may be looking a bit to deep into this one.

Hey - we allow people to kill others with their cigarette smoke, so why not with pretty colored guns. We wouldn't want to rob people of their "private property rights."

What a great image on the news - that Lauer woman pointing the pretty gun into the camera. Makes me proud to be a Wisconsinite. Put her picture next to the bimbo on the front page of the Waterford Post puffing a cigarette standing behind the bar.

As a community, I feel that we should feel not only responsible for securing our own children's safety, but for ensuring that all children, adults and police officers are kept safe. Real weapons that look very similar to toy weapons present a danger to everyone. I am worried about those children who live in homes where people own these colored guns and don't take care to keep them safely away from their children - or their neighbor's children. I am worried about the adults - maybe unstable or whatever - who may be playing around with a toy gun but end up getting shot and killed by a police officer who believes he/she is under attack. I am afraid for people who believe that someone is waving around or playing with a toy gun that ends up being a real gun - and they end up dead. I just don't see any good coming from having these look-alike weapons.

And I don't think the answer is to say - well, I know my kids are safe - if everyone handles the situation well, it won't be a big deal... Because you know there are some crazy, stupid people out there!

Nope...good for them. Bloombergs ego has been pumped by himself way too often lately. His self importance has finally been called.

I think the slap in the face is "funny", but I hate these weapons in day-glo colors and with cartoon characters on them. It is hard enough to teach kids to respect weapons, but now they look even more like toys! How can you ask your kids to stay away from a gun unless its owner is around, when they look like they came out of the toybox? I don't teach by fear or intimidation, I teach by knowledge and facts...and the fact is, these things are inappropriate!

Colored guns help criminals and hinder police.

From Nassau [County, NY] proposes ban on brightly painted guns

"Joseph Green, who is a supervisory special agent with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' New York field division, said the issue isn't new, and that he could recall seeing painted guns in the late 1980s and early '90s.

"It's been around for many, many years that criminals would try to paint their guns to disguise them to look like toys," he said.

Green couldn't say whether any painted guns had been recovered in Nassau or Suffolk. But he echoed the concerns of others that such guns pose a threat to police and civilians alike.

"It makes it much more difficult for police officers now because they really have to be extra, extra cautious," he said."
