It's Monday! The weekend was wonderful. Went down to North Beach, walked along the bike path, and sat on a bench taking in the beauty of Lake Michigan on a warm autumn day. As much as I dislike snow & cold & winter, I enjoy autumn in Racine and spring and summer in Racine. Hmmm...any chance we can just skip winter this year and move ahead to spring. Oh yeah...I guess we have to put up with winter in order to experience Christmas in Racine, right? Hmmm...always something positive to make winter seem not to ugly!

Happy Monday everyone!

Yuch...what is it with municipal court? OK, so my plates got stolen, so I couldn't take my car through emissions, then my purse got stolen w/my drivers license and glasses in it, so I doubly can't drive.... when I try and get a friend to drive me through emissions, I get a ticket for not having plates, and the day after I get it all figured out I get a letter saying the tickets gone up to $58.
So I go to court this morning, and find out it will cost me $50 to re-open the case, ask that the fee be waived, and the judge asks about my income. Apparently he thinks that two people can survive just fine off $300 a month (after rent), and pay the $50 if I want to fight it.
It was worth the $8 (and the deputies reprimand) to slam his $%^^&&ing door.
How can it be fair to charge people for being victims of a crime, and attempting to obey the law?
Sometimes I really feel this town is out to bleed people dry, then break them in half.

Oh, and Happy Monday Everyone!

Now if I can get past wrangling with We Energies and the roofing company, it'll be a miracle...

We were awakened this morning with the Civil alert buzz on the TV saying an emergency had been declared for our area. It was an Amber Alert.
A truck with a 3 year old in the back was stolen out of the Lucky Star Casino parking lot around 3:15 a.m. By 6:30 they had found the truck (quite a distance away) with the 3 year old who was cold, but unharmed. The news reported she would be reunited with her parents later today.
Yeah, I see that happening, only if her parents weren't the ones that left her in the truck. In the thunderstorms, heavy rain and the 40 degree temps.

Happy Monday to all... I'm going off of 1 1/2hours of sleep, like a walking zombie, I'll be in bed soon, only to get up at 2am, but hoping to crash by 5 and try to catch up a bit. I faked awake for at least a couple hours today :)

What a cruddy day this has been. Normally I would have enjoyed using it as an excuse to curl up on the couch and watch movies with the cat and my favorite fuzzy blanket. The memory of the GLORIOUS weekend weather made it impossible to savor a lazy Monday.

I just hope we have a couple more weekends like that to give me something to whine about on a normal autumn Monday.

I watched " Carnival of souls" yesterday. It was a black and white film. Zombies where following this lady around. Apparently her car drove into the river the week earlier and she was the only one in the car to escape. The drowned people were following her around and haunting her. At the end of the flick the zombies managed to tackle her and she was in the car drowned with the rest of them in the last scene in the movie. The lady had great facial expressions through out the whole movie.

I can't watch spooky movies at night. I get nightmares really really really bad.
