Its interesting to see the true level of apathy in this city. There has been so much talk about punishment, from myself included, yet there is not one person who has posted to this general topic in any of the other blogs that is willing step up and say I am willing to do something, anything, relative to this blight on our community. The only thing posted here are links to a bunch of crap that some imbecile decided to waste people's time with. Is this the best we have as a community ?

Racine, you just don't get it. All of us, every person who lives in this community has ownership and responsibility for dealing with these problems. Each of us needs to do something. For myself, I am going to see how I can partner with Mr. Weather. He for one, whether you agree with him or not, is someone doing something.

The level of apathy shown by this community really answers the questions of why industry is leaving and why the criminals are moving in. Its because we (Racine) as a community are stating by our actions that we don't care. If we don't care, who will ??? Do you really not understand why this city is imploding on itself right around you ???

So as the question posed asks: What are you willing to do ? If nothing, then you shouldn't be surprised about what this city has and is continuing to become.

I think this was a great inside look at this culture in Racine. I agree with what Al Days said on Friday. "This problem should not be "given" to just one group, cops, schools, inner city, this issue should be addressed by the whole community". Only when we are able to address this problem as a community are we going to make any headway.

If the Chief, Mayor,RUSD,local elected all would just sit down at the same table and talk this out this can be beaten!
