Last week the JT reported that village officials in Mount Pleasant will consider counting absentee ballots a different way next election cycle.
They may not have to, though. Wisconsin's top elections official says the state should consider switching from absentee voting to early voting practiced in other states.
Early balloting requires less paperwork and clerks could also count the early votes before Election Day according to officials.
