How can anyone not admire this year’s Broncos?

Start with the fact that 16 starters, 10 of whom were on defense, graduated from a program that won back-to-back Lakeshore Conference championships. Then there was the sudden coaching change at the school just before this season started. And on the third play of the season opener, running back-cornerback Jared Andreoli, perhaps Union Grove’s most talented returning player, suffered a fractured tibia.

Nevertheless, the Broncos were in the playoff hunt until the last week of the season. And while the Broncos’ season ended last Wednesday with a 20-14 loss to Waterford, it was a game in which they gave everything they had.

What was perhaps most impressive of all, Union Grove held Waterford’s vaunted running game to 185 yards after the Wolverines had rushed for 300 or more in five of their previous six games. Andreoli had seven solo tackles and eight assists, outside linebackers Nick Bauer and Dylan Ruppert combined for six solo tackles and 13 assists and cornerback Jordan Chardukian had five solo tackles and five assists.
“I was happy we were there with a chance in our last game,” Union Grove coach Scott McBride said. “I was proud of our team because it was a challenging season and, yet, this was a team that never really gave up.”

Destroying Property- Eagle Lake Manor- Kansasville Wi.
Posted by: Carol at 4:02PM CST on October 28, 2007
Isn"t it a shame that when you fix up your yard and take pride in doing so, and decorate for all the Holidays, that somebody has to spoil it.  We had Landscaping lights around our circle of trees, well on Oct-28-2007 five lights were ripped out of the circle and smashed on the road.  It was reported right away, took down all the Halloween decorations and this year , Guess What- we are not particpating in giving out candy.   We always made up bags and three candy bars in each bag.   The little trick or treaters would have a big smile on their face and all the kids were very polite.  This took place in Eagle Lake Manor  Kansasville.  Such a shame. Well you know who did this you are out there.   When they grow up and someone does it to them when they have their own home, they will know how it feels.              Happy Halloween - And it"s not all kids that do this.           Carol Strempler

“I need a Safe Ride”
Posted by: Jess from Racine at 11:01AM CST on October 23, 2007

So you have been out drinking with some friends, and now it is late and you’re drunk. What do you do? Well apparently all you have to do is tell the bartender “I need a Safe Ride” Next thing you know there is a cab waiting to take you home free of charge.

Too good to be true?????? Well that is the question I am proposing to all you bloggers. See the thing is, this is in fact a very true scenario. Wisconsin’s SafeRide enacted on May 3, 2000 with an effective date of January 1, 2001 by the 1999 Wisconsin Act 109. It is now state statute 85.55. The goal being to provide an alternative means of transportation and thus to decrease the crashes, injuries and deaths that occur when intoxicated patrons attempt to drive home from drinking establishments.

Sounds great right? Well here is the catch, I do not know if our beloved Racine is a participant in this SafeRide program. I have been living and drinking here since before 2001, and I have never ever heard of this program, nor can I find any info that links Racine too it. With Troloween looming any day (Which I am very excited about) I wonder is this SafeRide available, because if so you can believe me, this Saturday I will be signing up for it.

So back to you bloggers, help me out, does any one know anything about this. Some one please not only tell me I am wrong, but tell me where to get more info about it.

THANKS, AND NO MATTER WHAT PROGRAMS WE HAVE OR DON’T HAVE PLEASE EVERYIONE DRIVE SAFE.!!!!

* This is the only thing I have found so far. The 2004 Wisconsin SafeRide Annual Report

and Evaluation located here ~~>http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/library/publications/topic/safety/saferide.pdf
