LETTERMAN EXPOSED
Posted by: MC on October 2, 2009 at 6:09PM CST
I always felt Letterman was too full of himself and not worth watching not to mention he is a far left lib. But now he has admitted what a slease ball he really is on top of all that. His wife should divorce his cheating ### and take their bastard child and every nickel old Dave has. He deserves no less. Can you say anything good about ol' Dave?

Big surprise a famous person fools around on his wife. The same with politicians. Political affiliation has little to do with people fooling around on their wives. Lib or not he is funny.

Posted by: AWBC on October 3, 2009 8:38AM CST
As ususal, Mr B minimizes the whole thing. This wasn't just fooling around on his wife. Good grief.

Posted by: algernon on October 3, 2009 8:50AM CST
And the terrible things he said about Sarah Palin and her daughter! Again, the old adage; people who live in glass houses, etc, etc.

Posted by: Mr B on October 3, 2009 9:49AM CST
I do consistently when it comes to zipper issues. When GG posts complaints about Sanford the same statement or Vinter or ??

Political affiliation has nothing to do with guys fooling around on their wives. And there are any number of good christian conservatives who have had a few broken windows as well.

Posted by: AWBC on October 3, 2009 10:17AM CST
HE F****people who WORK FOR HIM! My God, why can't you see that?

Posted by: Mr B on October 3, 2009 10:31AM CST
So did Newt Gingrich. So did Mel Gibson. So did Bill Clinton so did (insert thousands of people's names here). Why does it at all surprise you?

Posted by: AWBC on October 3, 2009 10:46AM CST
Who said I was surprised? Here we go with the fall-back liberal position: everybody does it. It should not be tolerated. He should be fired. The network will be on the hook for millions in damages if these women file lawsuits.

Posted by: algernon on October 3, 2009 10:47AM CST
Well, I have this to say for him. He didn't deny it (trying to save his a** of course) but he went right on t.v. and admitted it. And I agree with Mr. B---conservatives have a few broken windows as well. But you will have to admit Mr. B, that Letterman's pounce on Sarah Palin and her daughter was pretty awful. I didn't see or hear Bill Clinton, Newt Gingrich, or Mel Gibson doing anything like that. Sure, Newt did criticize Clinton when he was doing the same thing himself, but Sarah Palin and her daughter were innocent and didn't deserve it for god's sake! That is what I meant about glass houses. Perhaps I should have said you reap what you sow.

They say it happened before he was married in March. Although he was having a relationship with the mother of his baby at the time. But really, I could care less what David Letterman does. He doesn't make me laugh. Nor does his sex life ( yuck, puke ) interest me in the least.

Posted by: AWBC on October 3, 2009 10:55AM CST
Well, GK if you are ever sexually harrassed by your boss, the rest of us will simply say, "We couldn't care less. Her sex life doesn't interest me in the least."

Posted by: Mr B on October 3, 2009 11:07AM CST
AWBC - I agree he put his company at risk and should be fired. And so should any boss that fools around with those who work for him. And any employee that knowingly (and without coercin) fools around with their boss. I don't think I said excuse it. What I said was so what lotsa morons get themselves into trouble. My issue was the far left lib bit like they are the only folks who have ever fooled around at work (Newt fooled around with people in his campaign and office - two different ones, did you expect him to resign?).

Posted by: Gray Kitty on October 3, 2009 11:56AM CST
Didn't see where it said anyone was sexually harassed. If someone felt they were sexually harrassed they should by all means file a complaint about it. I thought these woman he had sex with were willing to do so, yuck, puke. I didn't see all the "hoopla" but my opinion is... if the woman felt threatened or harassed by David they would have said something before all this blackmailing came about. Don't you think?

Posted by: Dr. Awkward on October 3, 2009 11:56AM CST
I doubt it was sexual harrassment since apparently none of them came forward. Why assume he harrassed them? Maybe they pursued him. Some women are attracted to fame and fortune and are more than happy to sleep with a celebrity. Inappropriate because they worked for him and because he was in a committed relationship? Of course. That doesn't make it sexual harrassment.

Posted by: algernon on October 3, 2009 12:09PM CST
Mr B, we didn't get the chance to ask Newt to resign. He was "let go".

Posted by: AWBC on October 3, 2009 12:23PM CST
The simple fact that he was in a position of power over the women makes it impossible to say there was no coercion. This is THE WORKPLACE.

Posted by: MC on October 3, 2009 2:13PM CST
Mr B - maybe I didn't make myself clear enough because you said; My issue was the far left lib bit..." I said that in the header as part of the reason I didn't care to WATCH him. I didn't intend to infer I was using that against him for his sleasy conduct. Everybody knows sleasy conduct is not an exclusive of any political party. Pointing out that so-an-so did the same stuff and so-an-so did similar things, etc, doesn't justify Dave doing what he did nor does it mean it is not all that important either. Apparently ol' Dave thinks it is just good fodder for new jokes.

Posted by: Mr B on October 3, 2009 2:22PM CST
MC - I agree Letterman should be canned.

Posted by: Gray Kitty on October 3, 2009 4:13PM CST
Never liked him.
So no, I can't say one good thing about him.
Don't even like him in spats.

Posted by: Mr B on October 3, 2009 4:13PM CST
Alge - Newt did not get let go. He resigned. And not after his first affair with a staffer after his second.

Posted by: algernon on October 3, 2009 4:46PM CST
Mr B Yes he resigned after the heat. Same as being "let go".

Posted by: Gray Kitty on October 3, 2009 5:24PM CST
Off the subject for a sec....
MC, why are the only ones with pics for avatars?
I don't get it.

Posted by: Gray Kitty on October 3, 2009 5:30PM CST
I guess that made no sense at all. Why are "we" the only ones with avatars, I meant to say.

Posted by: MC on October 3, 2009 11:12PM CST
I guess GK, because no one else here has our wonderful imagination and creativity. :)

Posted by: Gray Kitty on October 4, 2009 8:25AM CST

I never realized toads had such thin skins, but then I failed biology. :)

Posted by: MC on October 1, 2009 5:30PM CST
Well, I guess Toad is pouting now (" I will NEVER comment on anything you should state in the future."), so he won't get to read my clever comment. All my good stuff usually goes unread, but I'll keep trying."

Maybe Toad will read this blog

A clarifying piece of information: Worldwide Pants is the name of Letterman's production company. He created it, it is his, he is the "Boss". His production company also produces "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and "The Bonnie Hunt Show".

Posted by: DobberDeeDee on October 4, 2009 10:54PM CST
Looks like Bigfoot has been doing a little internet research.....HA!

Nice name - Worldwide Pants...sounds fitting.

I used to watch Letterman - he was funny at one time, until his rabid hatred of Conservatives turned me off. I don't mind jokes about Palin and Bush, but he was outright vicious, so I quit watching.

Don't forget the other side of sexual harassment/discrimination. If a female staff worker now feels she was denied a promotion, raise, etc. because she wasn't having sex with Letterman, she may have a case.

In effect, if it can be shown that those who were having sex got better treatment, even if the actions were unknown by the rest of the staffers, a discrimination suit could be filed.

Posted by: EvenKiel on October 5, 2009 11:39AM CST
Any employee who Letterman had sex with can easily win a sexual harassment suit if they can show that the attention was unwanted or not reciprocated. Let's see if his fprmer assistant will file such a suit, since she hasn't up to this point. That fact is, the producer read her diary and decieded to do an illegal act.

"Your premis if flawed who ever you are today. "to accept the fact that their opponents are trying to do something about the problems we are facing". That is exactly what this is all about. Knowledgable people DO NOT ACCEPT what the Obama gang is trying to do is the right thing! It is the WRONG thing and WILL make matters worse. You can't reconcile that"

This was my comment to evenkiel/leftfoot in GG's blog "This may help you..." which she of course screened out. EK/lf's comment was;

Posted by: EvenKiel on October 5, 2009 9:27AM CST
What bothers me the must is that there are those out there who would rather see things get worse than try to accept the fact that their opponents are trying to do something about the problems we are facing. They claim to be patriots and to have values and yet those values include isopating people from each other, intolerance, and vengence. There seems to be little hope for reconciliation

Why is it other blogs end up in totally random places?? if it doesn't get posted...... move on with life

Posted by: MC on October 5, 2009 1:47PM CST
L.F. - Granny Grits will not post comments to her blogs except from a select few which I am not one of. Therefore I post my comments to her blogs on MY blog so that they get seen - got it? And please don't tell me to "move on" when it comes to what I put on my own blog. Suggestion - YOU move on if you don't care for how I manage MY blog.

Posted by: Little Foot on October 5, 2009 4:22PM CST
ohhh touchy touchy.....don't wanna start a blog war....sorry

Posted by: Little Foot on October 5, 2009 4:24PM CST
Even Kiel- Letterman - the memories are great growing up but even you can admit that it is not only extremely unprofessional but also a huge abuse of power for someone in his position to do (personal life or not).......what if that girl had been your daughter?

Posted by: DobberDeeDee on October 5, 2009 4:29PM CST
Way to say it MC! High five!

I find that lots of people do the same thing about the Grit's blogs - in fact, I did so myself today.

I almost NEVER even bother to read her blogs, but today I decided to do so to see if she was following the rules about cut and paste.

I started to comment on one of her blogs without thinking, and then remembered she monitors the comments.

So, I just put the comment I wanted to make on one of my own hand-written blogs.

And if Littlefoot is NOT OK with that, then you are right, she should take her own advice and "move on" right along with George (drillbabydrill) Soros et al.

Posted by: DobberDeeDee on October 5, 2009 4:34PM CST
The law on sexual harrassment is very clear. People who are superior to others (in terms of workplace heirarchy) are NOT allowed to engage in sexual dalliance with their underlings.

It can NEVER be interpreted to be consensual. How could it be?

Letterman is a dope for doing this.

He is the first criminal here. The second is the guy who is extorting him.

The woman involved is the VICTIM of both of these guys...who were both USING her for their own ends,
either sexual pleasure or a meal ticket to big bucks.

I hope they both wind up giving her lots of money.

Grab you torch and pitch forks!

Posted by: Little Foot on October 5, 2009 9:56PM CST
Well i give the man credit, he came clear instead of paying away problems and he apologizes to his wife tonight in his opening monologue!

Posted by: DobberDeeDee on October 6, 2009 11:38AM CST
No, LF - I just grab my remote control and NEVER see the ads that pay for his show. Works for me.

Um, what do you call a $2,000,000 check if it's not paying your way out of trouble?

Posted by: MC on October 6, 2009 1:39PM CST
Always Free - how on earth did you get Granny to post your comments on her "Former NcCain...." blog especially when they challenger her thinking?

Posted by: Dr. Awkward on October 6, 2009 4:50PM CST
DDD - The check was phony. I believe it was given to complete the extortion just like police complete drug deals to bust the seller. It was not to comply with his demands and "buy his way out of trouble.". Letterman had already gone to his lawyer and law enforcement.
