City workers have put in excessive overtime cleaning up this winter, according to the city's public works commissioner in a letter to city leaders.

The City of Racine has apparently just experienced its worst winter in 40 years, according to city staff.

More than 80 inches of snow have fallen so far this winter and its going to cost city taxpayers.

Rick Jones, the cities public works commissioner, wants to discuss the need for more overtime with a City Council committee.

Jones was scheduled to appear before the City Council Wednesday, Feb. 20 asking for a meeting with the council's Finance and Personnel Committee.
